Flotron’s Small Footprint (SFP) 700 series Rotation Fixtures are a higher capacity version of the 700 series. The SFP-700 series includes additional features and options; lift points above the CG capable of lifting the Flotron (without the payload integrated), one inch of axial float on the non-gearbox side trunnion to ease payload integration, flat leg design to lower the rotation centerline height without sacrificing available payload swing radius, needle roller bearing bushings on the non-gearbox-side trunnion, as well as an option for a cordless hand drill to rotate the gearbox. They are supplied with a heavy-duty, hollow shaft, stairstep resistant gearboxes to handle large, off-center loads that may occur during assembly of the mounted payload. See below for data on the SFP-700 series models and click on any image for additional information.
The electro-mechanical lift fixtures add the functionality of electrically operated and synchronized height adjustment during assembly, integration, and test activities. The system is plug and play and with a simple press of a button, the risers can adjust height while the payload is attached to the interfaces. The system runs on 100-240VAC, 50-60HZ, 600W and uses a standard 3 prong power plug (NEMA 5-15R). The unit remembers position even when unplugged or turned off, so no homing function is necessary during normal use. Click on images below for more information.
Flotron’s single beam 700 series holding fixtures are offered in three sizes. Pick a model that meets your part’s swing radius, load requirements, and puts your payload at an ergonomic working height. The fixtures are supplied with heavy-duty gearboxes to handle large, off-center loads during assembly stages. These models are especially suited for handling different types of spacecraft and aircraft assemblies or any part that needs rotation. Click on images below for more information.
The electro-mechanical lift fixtures add the functionality of electrically operated and synchronized height adjustment during assembly, integration, and test activities. The system is plug and play and with a simple press of a button, the risers can adjust height while the payload is attached to the interfaces. This option has some advantages over hydraulics, requiring less maintenance and for compatibility in clean room environments. The system runs on 100-240VAC, 50-60HZ, 300W and uses a standard 3 prong power plug (NEMA 5-15R). The unit remembers position even when unplugged or turned off, so no homing function is necessary during normal use. Click on images below for more information.
The hydraulic lift fixtures are like the electro-mechanical lift option but instead uses hydraulics to raise and lower the trunnions in unison. This is achieved with a hand crank located on the gearbox side end frame. Hydraulics may be desired in areas where electronics are prohibited.
The 700 series double beam has two beams to allow the part to swing between them for larger payloads without sacrificing a large increase in trunnion height from floor. This allows the user to keep larger payloads at an ergonomic working height. Click on images below for more information.
This series combines the functionality of the hydraulic lift with the double beam feature. This series is useful for large parts that need frequent trunnion height adjustment.
Flotron engineered lift fixtures provide ergonomic height adjustment capability to accommodate various operator heights. Ergonomic lift fixtures can also assist with vertical integration operations.
Flotron cantilevered rotation fixtures interface a customer’s payload from one end. Sometimes this is the only option for assembly, integration and test operations due to customer payload constraints.
Flotron spacecraft (satellite) positioners (upenders) are multi axis rotation fixtures designed to tilt/rotate and provide ergonomic access to all sides of the payload during assembly, integration and test operations. Another example of multi axis rotation is a Flotron two axis gimbal fixture that precisely positions spaceflight hardware and functions as an optical test fixture.
Precision alignment functionality is critical during the installation of sensitive payloads and can eliminate the need for an overhead lifting device. Flotron precision alignment fixtures have also been used effectively as RF test pointing fixtures.
There are cases where large payload envelopes and very heavy payloads exceed the capabilities of Flotron’s off-the-shelf product line and this is where a large swing turnover fixture may be a good fit.
